A gift before you buy
This is Ritual 1 from the book, the foundation of everything in it. Ten minutes together every Monday becomes a ritual of connection many couples come to look forward to.
Ritual 01 · The divine couple
Purpose: A short weekly prayer to Shiva and Parvati, done together, to keep your marriage centred and connected.
Best time: Every Monday, morning or evening.
You will need: A Shiva-Parvati image or a small Shivling, water, a little milk, bilva leaves, white and red flowers, one ghee lamp.
1. Light the lamp together, both holding the matchstick or lighter.
2. One partner offers water and a little milk to Shiva while the other offers red flowers to Parvati. Then switch.
3. Offer bilva leaves and white flowers together.
4. Chant the mantra 108 times together (or 21 times on busy days).
5. Each partner names one thing they’re grateful for in the other.
The mantra
ॐ उमामहेश्वराभ्यां नमः
Om Uma Maheshwarabhyam Namah
Salutations to Uma (Parvati) and Maheshwara (Shiva), the divine couple.
That is one of 15. The other 14 are waiting inside, including calming anger, harmony with in-laws and the Saptapadi renewal.
The 40-day couple’s practice
A few minutes a day for 40 days. Each week adds one ritual and one relationship habit, so the peace you pray for shows up in how you speak to each other.

The Monday couple’s puja. Start a daily appreciation habit.
Days 8 to 14
The Griha Shanti home cleanse. Agree on a fairer split of household chores.
Days 15 to 21
The Ardhanarishvara meditation. Each names one need the other may not know about.
Days 22 to 28
Calming Anger. Agree on your “pause word” for arguments.
Days 29 to 35
Vastu for a loving bedroom. Plan one date with no talk of work, money or children.
Days 36 to 40
The Saptapadi renewal. Write each other a short letter of gratitude.
Is this for you?
✓You are married and want more peace, warmth and closeness✓Routine, family or work pressures have pulled you apart✓You argue more than you would like✓You want rituals you can do together, step by step✓You both feel safe and respected, and want to grow together
✕You want to control or “bind” your spouse. Those rituals are deliberately left out✕You want guaranteed results. No honest book can promise them✕You want a ritual instead of help in an unsafe marriage. Please call 181 or 112✕You want initiated (diksha) practices. These are open practices only
Our promise to you
We will never tell you a marriage is cursed or doomed. Shiva and Parvati are approached with love, not fear.
A lamp, flowers, bilva leaves and a little water and milk. No costly gemstones, no paid pujas.
Every mantra is a household devotional mantra. Practices that need guru initiation are left out, and we tell you why.
Rituals and couples counselling work beautifully together. Fasting is always optional, and no ritual should hold a harmful relationship together.

Questions
Will these rituals fix my marriage?
No ritual can guarantee results, and you should be wary of anyone who says otherwise. These practices bring focus, calm and, in the tradition’s understanding, divine grace. The daily choices you both make matter most, and the 40-day plan builds those habits in.
Do I need a guru or initiation (diksha)?
No. Every practice in the book is a household ritual traditionally open to sincere beginners. Practices that require initiation, or that aim to control or harm anyone, are deliberately left out.
What if my spouse won’t join in?
Many rituals, including the daily harmony mantra, calming anger and the Tulsi lamp, can be done alone. The couple’s puja is best together, but one partner beginning often opens the door.
How much time does it take each day?
The Monday puja takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and the daily mantra a few minutes more. Festival rituals take longer on their days, and you choose the ones that fit your life.
Do I need to buy expensive items?
No. A lamp, flowers, bilva leaves, water and a little milk. Fasts are optional, and anyone pregnant, unwell, elderly or on medication should eat normally and keep the prayer.
Is this for a marriage with abuse?
No ritual should keep you in danger. If there is violence, threats, sexual coercion or control over your money, movement or contacts, please seek help first: the Women Helpline 181 or emergency 112 in India.
What language is it in?
Clear, simple English. Every mantra is written in easy-to-read transliteration with a pronunciation guide, so you can chant it with confidence.
How do I get the book after I pay?
Instantly. You'll get a download link on the thank-you page and by email. The PDF works on your phone, tablet or computer, and the tracker pages are ready to print.
