15 Rituals to Remove the Evil Eye
Sound familiar?
A new shop, car or home, and soon after, one problem after another.
Your child is unsettled after a party, and your mother says “nazar lag gayi”.
You remember the salt and chillies your grandmother used, but not the steps.
Online “nazar removal” services quote large sums and use fear to sell.
Every Indian family has its own nazar remedies, passed down from grandmothers. This book gathers them, step by step, with the safety notes they deserve.
The protectors
Simple folk remedies remove nazar; the guardian deities seal your family, home and business with lasting protection.
01
Believed to absorb and burn away nazar, circled and then discarded.
02
Kajal and thread: a small “flaw” that breaks the gaze of admiration.
03
The greatest guardian, said to keep all fear and negativity away. Tuesday and Saturday.
04
The shield of the divine mother for the whole family. Friday.
05
Vishnu’s fierce half-lion form, sealing the home on Amavasya.

Nazar Raksha
Part one
Why salt, chillies, lemon and black?
Salt is believed to absorb negative energy, so it is circled and then dissolved.
Red chillies and mustard seeds are believed to “burn” nazar in fire.
Lemon is sour and sharp, believed to draw nazar away.
Black is believed to deflect attention: a small flaw that breaks the gaze.

A gift before you buy
This is Ritual 1 from the book, the simplest and most common nazar remedy. Many families do it for a child after a party, simply as a gentle bedtime ritual.
Ritual 01 · Removing nazar
Purpose: Rock salt circled around the person to absorb nazar.
Best time: Evening, at dusk; Tuesday, Saturday or whenever nazar is suspected.
You will need: A fistful of rock salt (coarse sea salt works), a bowl of water or a sink.
1. The person sits or stands comfortably, facing east if possible.
2. Take the salt in your right fist and chant the mantra 3 times.
3. Circle your fist clockwise around the person’s whole body, head to toe, 7 times.
4. Without touching anyone, dissolve the salt in the bowl of water or under running water.
5. Wash your hands and say: “May all nazar be lifted. May [name] be protected.”
The mantra
ॐ हुं हनुमते नमः
Om Hum Hanumate Namah
Salutations to Hanuman, the great protector.
That is one of 15. The other 14 are waiting inside, including the gentle water circle for babies, nimbu-mirchi at the door and Hanuman’s shield.
The 21-day protection practice
Use it after a difficult period, a move, a new business or a new baby. Begin on a Tuesday or Saturday; the weekly routine keeps protection going after day 21.

Days 15 to 21
Durga’s mantra daily, and the grandmother’s aarti for the whole family on day 21.
Every Tuesday
Hanuman’s shield, 15 minutes.
Every Saturday
Fresh nimbu-mirchi at the door and the salt cleanse, 30 minutes.
Every Amavasya
A monthly deep cleanse of the home, sealed with Narasimha’s protection.

Questions
Will these rituals guarantee protection?
No ritual can guarantee results, and you should be wary of anyone who says otherwise. These practices bring comfort, a sense of protection and, in the tradition’s understanding, divine grace.
Do I need a guru or initiation (diksha)?
No. Every practice in the book is a household ritual traditionally open to sincere beginners. Practices that require initiation, or that aim to control or harm anyone, are deliberately left out.
Are these safe for babies?
The book includes gentle, smoke-free remedies for babies, like the water circle, and clear child safety rules: lead-free kajal only and never inside the eyes, no threads around the neck, and no smoke near infants. If a baby seems unwell, see a doctor first.
How much time does it take each day?
Most remedies take 5 minutes. Hanuman’s shield and Durga’s mantra take about 15, and the monthly Amavasya cleanse about 30.
Do I need to buy expensive items?
No. Rock salt, lemons, chillies, mustard seeds, alum, a lamp and a black thread. Everything comes from your kitchen or puja shelf.
Can I find out who put nazar on me?
No, and the book asks you not to try. Nazar remedies protect your own family. They are never a reason to suspect or accuse anyone, and there are no rituals to send harm back.
What language is it in?
Clear, simple English. Every mantra is written in easy-to-read transliteration with a pronunciation guide, so you can chant it with confidence.
How do I get the book after I pay?
Instantly. You'll get a download link on the thank-you page and by email. The PDF works on your phone, tablet or computer, and the tracker pages are ready to print.
